Day 1 (29 December ) : Arrival to Tbilisi
We meet you in the airport of Tbilisi and escort to the chosen hotel in Tbilisi . Free time . Night in Tbilisi
Day 2 (30 December): Tbilisi - Mtskheta - Tbilisi
We spend the first morning of the trip in historical Mtskheta. Mtskheta is the ancient capital and religious center of Georgia.
In Mtskheta, we will visit the UNESCO World Heritage Sites: Jvari Monastery built in the 6th century and the beautiful Svetitskhoveli Cathedral.
From Jvari Monastery there is an amazing panoramic view of the city at the confluence of the Mtkvari and Aragvi rivers.
Later we will visit Svetitskhoveli Cathedral, which is the largest historical building in Georgia among the survivors and leaves a great impression on the visitor.
We visit a typical Georgian family for lunch and taste a variety of Georgian cuisine. The pre-Christmas mood will be especially felt when visiting a local family.
We can become an accomplice of this pleasant preparation and prepare New Year’s sweets – Gozinaki together with the hosts. Gozinaki is a Georgian sweet made of honey and walnuts.
Then we will have Tbilisi city tour , visiting Old Town , Narikala fortress by the cable car , sulfur bathes area , Rustaveli avenue (the main celebrating street in Tbilisi ) . We will visit the local open bazaars and markets on the open air . Meandering through the narrow streets of the city we will come-across various religious buildings: Churches, Synagogues, Mosques, Wooden houses built in the 19th century with colourful balconies, sulphur baths, the Narikala fortress. Day 3 (31 december): Tbilisi - Sighnaghi – Bodbe monastery – local home winery - Tbilisi
In the morning we take the road to the Kakheti region. This side of Georgia is considered the homeland of wine. However, apart from winemaking, Kakheti is distinguished by monuments of different periods and diverse nature.
Here we will visit the fortified town Sighnaghi, which leaves a special impression with its beautiful streets and distinctive natural location. We will walk along the cobbled streets with colourful houses and balconies, enjoy the amazing view of the snow-capped Caucasus Mountains and the vast valley of Alazani.
A visit to Kakheti is incomplete without a local family lunch. The tradition of generously hosting guests is further intensified in the New Year.
On the 1st January, every Georgian family has a festive supper, which is uniquely abundant and varied.
We can taste special Georgian dishes, which are prepared only for the New Year. Wine, which has already been recognised by the world, is harmoniously combined with traditional cuisine. In the evening we are going to have Georgian New Year celebration with music and dances in the restaurant in Tbilisi . Night in Tbilisi
Day 4 (1 January): Tbilisi - Gudauri – Tbilisi
Today we are going to see the greatness of the Great Caucasus. We will follow the Georgian Military Road, which is one of the most spectacular routes in Georgia.
We will continue the road from Gudauri with a cable car (Closed Cabin). The amazing panorama of the Great Caucasus unfolds from the gondolas.
On the way to Tbilisi we will see Ananuri complex. The beautiful fusion of Zhinvali Reservoir and Ananuri Complex is really impressive. Overnight in Tbilisi
Day 5 (2 January): Tbilisi – Gori – Borjomi – Bakuriani – Tbilisi
Today we are going to see the Gori and the Stalin,s house from outside (Gori is the birthplace of Stalin , Soviet leader ) . Then we will head to Borjomi – spa town and famous for mineral waters . We will visit the park and town itself . Then we will head to Bakuriani ski resort with great views and nice atmosphere . Night in Tbilisi
Day 6 (3 January): Tbilisi – departure
Free time in Tbilisi . Transfer to the airport of Tbilisi , departure
