Hiking tour around Georgia 

 

Day 1: Arrival in Tbilisi
Arrival to Tbilisi International airport. Transfer to the hotel 

Day 2: Tbilisi - Ananuri Fortress - Jinvali Reservation – Gudauri - Kazbegi 
8 KM hike  

Breakfast. Tour starts at 10:00. On the way visiting Ananuri Fortress, a former residence of Argveti Dukes, which features churches and towers dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries and beautifully overlooks Jinvali Reservoir. Stop to Friendship monument in Gudauri for photo shooting. 13:00/14:00 Lunch in Mleta restaurant (20 USD per pax) Continue the way to Kazbegi. Hiking to Gergeti Trinity church (located at an altitude of 2,170 m) to enjoy the amazing views of Mount Kazbeg. 
Overnight in Kazbegi.

Day 3: Kazbegi - Juta - Mt. Chaukhebi – Borjomi
10 KM hike
In the morning we drive through the beautiful Sno Valley to the village of Juta (2165 m).
This village amazes visitors with its ancient way of life preserved to this day. Surrounded by beautiful mountains, Juta is completely cut off from the rest of the country for six months.
From Juta we will start walking to the foot of Chaukhebi mountain (2550 m). While trekking we will pass the amazing wild nature and we will see the beautiful mountain Chaukhebi (3842 m).
Filled with amazing impressions, we return to the village of Juta with the same way.
Transfer to Borjomi for overnight 


Day 4: Borjomi-Green Monastery-Borjomi Park-Borjomi
8 KM hike 
Borjomi- Balneological and climatic resort in Georgia at an altitude of 800 meters above the sea and is noted for: Its mineral water industry. Visiting Green Monastery - A secluded medieval monastery which is hidden in a forest valley near Borjomi, in a gorge among dense forest. This is one of the oldest monasteries in Georgia (IX century).
One of the most popular places to visit is Borjomi Central Park (hiking here) which was built in the gorge (at its widest point). It’s comfortable to walk here in both cold and hot weather. On its territory there are several attractions that guests of the city will appreciate. In addition to mineral water, Borjomi is famous for its unique climate (200 sunny days a year) and healing air. Every spring, many people with respiratory problems come here - the cleanliness, freshness and coniferous forests benefit many. Overnight in Borjomi.


Day 5: Borjomi-Enguri Dum-Mestia
Head to mysterious Svaneti passing through the Enguri Dum. Enguri dam is the largest and most powerful power plant in the Caucasus. It produces over 700 megawatts of electricity. The height of its dam is 276 m, and the volume of the reservoir itself is 1110 cubic meters of water. Svaneti is famous for its original and authentic architecture and is dubbed “the land of thousand towers”. Those towers used to play an important economic and defensive role in the history of Svaneti. Overnight at the Mestia hotel


Day 6: Mestia-Ushguli-Lamaria charch-Shkhara-Mestia
16 KM Hike
Breakfast. After the hotel breakfast, drive to Ushguli village, the highest standing settlement in Europe (2200 m). The Ushguli architectural complex is a valuable architectural and historical monument, included in the UNESCO World Heritage List for its exclusiveness. There are about 70 families (around 200 people) living in Ushguli. Spend time in Ushguli strolling through the old narrow streets. Visit Lamaria Church complex, with impressive 12th century wall frescoes. Locals believe that Queen Tamar was buried under this church. Hike towards highest peak in Georgia Mount Shkhara (both way 8 km hike in total) and see beginning of glacier. Return to for overnight Mestia 

Day 7: Mestia-Koruldi Lakes-Mestia
12 KM Hike
Breakfast. Visit Koruldi lakes. From Mestia to the lakes Koruldi you can get only by well-equipped 4X4 off-road vehicle. If you look at the glittering surface of these lakes, which are always filled with crystal clear water, the reflection of the snow-capped peaks behind will remind you of stalactites, and together, an unforgettable landscape unfolds before your eyes, creating an almost illusory perception that gives you an unforgettable sensation. Drive towards Mestia 

 

Day 8: Mestia-Zugdidi-Dadiani Palace-Tbilisi
We can stop at Dadiani palace in Zugdidi. Dadiani Palace was one of the first European-style palaces built in the historical territory of Zugdidi. The collections of the Museum consist of over 45,000 items, some of which date back to the original Palace collection expropriated in 1919, and some of which have been subsequently added. They represent thousands of years of history, and include several utterly unique pieces, such as Napoleon Bonaparte’s death mask 

 

Day 9: Tbilisi City Tour- Departure
Breakfast. Start Tbilisi sightseeing at 09:30: After breakfast, we will embark on Tbilisi sightseeing tour. Start at Metekhi Сhurch and the monument to Vakhtang Gorgasali, the legendary founder of Tbilisi. Visit Narikala Fortress to enjoy a breathtaking panoramic view of the city. Walk down to the district of sulphur bath houses and pass by the only mosque in Tbilisi. Stroll through the Sharden area, full of narrow streets with cozy cafés, wine tasting bars, and souvenir shops, and breathe in the history of Old Tbilisi. Also visit Sioni Cathedral, Anchiskhati Basilica, and the famous Rezo Gabriadze Theatre’s clock tower, before crossing the Bridge of Peace to Rike Park. Transfer to the Airport
