 Tour Program: Geghard — Garni — Sevan

  • Introduction to the guide and short briefing

09:00 – Departure from Yerevan

 First Stop: Geghard Monastery (~10:00 – 11:00)

  • Arrival at the rock-cut Geghard Monastery (12th–13th centuries)

  • Guided tour of the main church, chapels carved into the rock, and holy springs

  • Learn about the legend of the Holy Lance and the site’s importance in Armenian Christianity

  • Free time for photos and exploration

 Second Stop: Garni Temple (~11:10 – 12:30)

  • Visit to the pagan Temple of Garni (1st century AD)

  • Explore the complex: temple, Roman bathhouse, and mosaics

  • Enjoy the view of the Azat River Gorge and the “Symphony of Stones”

  • Free time for souvenirs or fresh Armenian lavash baked in a tonir oven

 Lunch (optional) (~12:30 – 13:30)

  • Stop at a traditional restaurant near Garni

  • Try Armenian dishes such as khashlama, dolma, lavash, matsun, and more

 Third Stop: Lake Sevan & Sevanavank Monastery (~15:00 – 16:00)

  • Arrival at Lake Sevan — one of the largest high-altitude lakes in the world

  • Walk up to the Sevanavank Monastery (short hike)

  • Guided tour of the 9th-century monastery and panoramic views of the lake

  • Free time for photos or coffee by the water

16:00 – Departure back to Yerevan
