If you haven't been to Kakheti, you haven't truly been to Georgia. This day tour covers Georgia's most celebrated wine region - sweeping valley views, ancient monasteries, a historic hill town, and the rich flavor of traditional Kakhetian cuisine and wine.

Nekresi Monastery

One of Georgia's oldest and most scenic monasteries, founded in the 6th century.

  • Mountaintop setting: perched above the Alazani Valley with sweeping views.
  • Founded by Abibos of Nekresi, one of the Thirteen Assyrian Fathers who brought Christianity to the region.
  • A center of learning: once a spiritual and cultural hub where monks studied theology and copied ancient manuscripts.
  • Ruins of the ancient city of Nekresi, visible in the valley below.

Wine Tasting at Kindzmarauli Winery

One of Kakheti's most iconic wineries, known for its semi-sweet red wines.

  • Qvevri winemaking: learn about this UNESCO-listed traditional method.
  • Tasting: sample local wines (18+).

Bodbe Monastery

One of Georgia's most revered pilgrimage sites.

  • Final resting place of St. Nino, who brought Christianity to Georgia.
  • 9th-century cathedral with stunning views over the Alazani Valley.
  • Optional visit to St. Nino's holy spring (not guaranteed).
  • A peaceful, spiritually rich stop amid the Kakhetian landscape.

Sighnaghi - the City of Love

A romantic 18th-century hill town with panoramic views of the Alazani Valley and the Caucasus Mountains.

  • Walk the cobblestone streets and charming central square.
  • Optional visit to the Sighnaghi Museum.
  • Fortress wall with 28 watchtowers - one of the longest defensive walls in Europe.
  • Viewpoints over vineyards and snow-capped peaks - a top photo stop.
  • 24/7 registry office: the reason Sighnaghi is known as the City of Love.

Georgian Bread Master Class - Shotis Puri

At a local home bakery, try your hand at traditional Georgian bread-baking.

  • Bake Shotis Puri in a clay tone oven.
