Tsaghkadzor, Kecharis Monastery, Lake Sevan & Dilijan Day Tour

Tsaghkadzor, Kecharis Monastery, Lake Sevan & Dilijan Day Tour

Programm:

This special day trip takes you through some of Armenia's most scenic highlights - a gorge of flowers, the Olympic town of Tsaghkadzor, the "Blue Pearl" of Lake Sevan, and the mild, forested beauty of Dilijan.

Tsaghkadzor

A small Olympic town roughly an hour's drive from Yerevan, known for its fresh mountain air and countless health benefits. The excursion here is enhanced by a cable car ride through the surrounding gorge.

  • Kecharis Monastery: an 11th-century monastic complex built by Armenian royalty to honor the 1,000th anniversary of Jesus Christ - one of the town's most significant historical and religious landmarks.

  • Cable car ride: a scenic way to take in the gorge and mountain views around Tsaghkadzor.

Lake Sevan

Known as the "Blue Pearl" of Armenia, Lake Sevan is the largest lake in the Caucasus and one of the largest mountain freshwater lakes in the world - covering 1,400 square kilometers at an altitude of 1,900 meters.

  • Natural beauty: crystal-clear water and dramatic mountain scenery make this one of the most beautiful and restful stops on the tour.
  • Sevanavank Monastery: built in 874 on the orders of Princess Mariam, daughter of King Ashot Bagratuni, on a peninsula in the lake's northwest. The silhouette of its churches against the turquoise water and open sky is one of the tour's most memorable views.

Dilijan

A resort town stretched along the banks of the Aghstev River, surrounded by mountains and forests.

  • Health resort atmosphere: warm sun, fresh air, and natural spas long known for their healing effects.
  • Architectural heritage: Dilijan is home to a number of notable historical buildings and monuments.
